+ 60 GT3 cars already signed up for 77th CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa
+ Corvette returns to the world's biggest GT race with the Z06 GT3.R
+ Verstappen.com Racing confirmed for Spa debut with Aston Martin Vantage
+ Intercontinental GT Challenge entrants given priority for remaining spots
Scheduled for 25-29 June, the 77th edition of the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa is shaping up to be a standout event. While the full entry list has not yet been finalised, a significant portion of the field was set on Thursday when the full-season GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup grid was revealed – and it looks impressive!
With more than three months to go before the world's biggest GT race gets underway, the presence of at least 60 cars and a total of 10 manufacturers has already been confirmed. Corvette is among them as the American brand – which won the Spa classic in 2007 and 2009 – returns after a 14-year absence. It will be represented by the British squad Steller Motorsport, which will field two Z06 GT3.R entries.
The nine manufacturers that competed in the 2024 CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa will all be back this summer. Aston Martin, which claimed victory at the centenary edition, will have at least six cars on the grid, as will Lamborghini. With eight crews already confirmed, BMW, Mercedes-AMG, and Porsche are currently the best-represented brands, just ahead of Ferrari and McLaren, both of which currently have seven cars. There will also be at least five Audis and two Fords.
The 2025 GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS grid is noticeably well-balanced across the Pro, Gold Cup, Silver Cup, and Bronze Cup classes. As such, fans can expect to see close-fought battles at every level throughout the twice-around-the-clock contest.
For the season's marquee event, Belgian teams will once again be well represented. In addition to defending champion Comtoyou Racing (Aston Martin), the local favourites include Team WRT (BMW) and Boutsen VDS (Mercedes-AMG). They will face competition from Verstappen.com Racing (Aston Martin), the team established by the four-time Formula 1 World Champion, which will make its maiden appearance at the Ardennes event this summer.
Which other teams will join the field? The answer will be revealed during the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa Prologue, held on May 13-14. Priority for the remaining spots will go to competitors participating in the Intercontinental GT Challenge. One thing is certain: the world’s best GT teams and drivers will compete for glory at the 77th CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa.
While the on-track action promises to be spectacular, fans can also look forward to plenty of off-track entertainment. Wednesday’s parade to Spa city centre, three nights of music, new exhibitions, and an expanded Fan Village will ensure there's something for everyone.
