> Additional GT World Challenge Asia outings also possible
Giancarlo Fisichella is scheduled to contest the Suzuka 1000km with Ferrari’s Japanese customer squad LMcorsa later this year.
The team, a GT World Challenge Asia powered by AWS regular, revealed its 2025 plans at the Osaka Auto Messe earlier today. Its Super GT300 programme with Lexus will be supplemented by a 296 GT3 returning to Asia’s biggest GT3 series as well as a one-off Intercontinental GT Challenge appearance at the revived Summer Endurance Race.
Three-time Formula 1 Grand Prix winner Fisichella joins Shigekazu Wakisaka and another as yet unnamed Am driver for the six-hour enduro, which stages IGTC’s penultimate round on September 12-14.
Additional GT World Challenge Asia outings in preparation for Suzuka are also possible.
Fisichella has been a mainstay of Ferrari’s factory and customer GT programmes since retiring from F1 at the end of 2009. He was crowned Italian GT Endurance champion last year after previously representing the Scuderia at world championship level. His GT CV also includes two Le Mans 24 Hours class victories.
