Audi retains Suzuka line-ups for Kyalami 9 Hour

Title contender Frederic Vervisch will remain with fellow Suzuka 10 Hours winners Kelvin van der Linde and Dries Vanthoor, as well as Audi Sport Team WRT, for Intercontinental GT Challenge Powered by Pirelli’s championship showdown at Kyalami on November 21-23.

The Belgian heads to South Africa just six points behind current Drivers’ Championship leader Maxi Buhk after winning at Suzuka last month. And with the difference between finishing first and second standing at seven points, another win would be enough for Audi’s leading contender to clinch the crown regardless of where his Mercedes-AMG rival finishes.

Audi Sport has also confirmed its second #IntGTC-nominated entry will be run by German squad Land Motorsport, who also represented the manufacturer at Laguna Seca and Spa. Markus Winkelhock, Christopher Mies and Christopher Haase also reprise their Suzuka partnership, although only the latter retains an outside chance of winning the Drivers’ crown.

The provisional entry list for the revived Kyalami 9 Hour, which returns to the international calendar for the first time since 1982 on November 21-23, will be issued on Tuesday.
