In 2019, and for the fourth consecutive year, at least two Audi R8 LMS GT3 cars will participate in each round of the Intercontinental GT Challenge. Audi has taken the first three manufacturers’ title of the only global GT3 series, and will be challenged to successfully defend its crown.
Audi drivers Laurens Vanthoor (2016) and Markus Winkelhock (2017) have also laid their hands on the unique drivers’ trophy, and the German manufacturer will be keen to ensure another double in 2019.
Next season, the worldwide racing series will feature one endurance race per continent. In addition to the Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour (Australia), the Laguna Seca California 8 Hours (USA), the Total 24 Hours of Spa (Belgium) and Suzuka 10 Hours (Japan), South Africa will make its first appearance on the calendar, with the 9 Hours of Kyalami as the new season finale.
